My story
Are you living the fast-paced London life?
In 2000, I opened Angel Chiropractic Clinic in Islington. Over the years, my business grew into a bustling multidisciplinary clinic with osteopaths, physiotherapists, massage therapists, acupuncturists and psychotherapists.
From an external perspective, I was doing incredible; I had a booming business, a house and a family. But internally, I was stressed and burnt out from balancing the long hours and pressures of running a business alongside a busy London lifestyle.
Fast forward 17 years, one Friday afternoon, I left the clinic in Islington and was cycling up through north London. A car pulled in front of me and knocked me off my bike. I found myself in a hospital bed with a dislocated shoulder, four fractured vertebrae and a fracture to my left hip, plus concussion and numerous bruises.
The next two years were spent in pain. I needed five operations to put my body back together. I lost my business, and the new focus in my life became learning to get out of bed again.
The experience took me out of my linear working life and put me in the shoes of my patients. I experienced first-hand the frustration and despondency that can take hold of you through restriction and pain.
Once reconstructed, one summer afternoon, I was lying in bed and had a profound realisation. Being a Chiropractor, I had spent years teaching my patients:
‘with the right care and perspective, the human body has an incredible capacity to heal itself.’
But I was missing a fundamental insight within my own healing journey. There was only one person who could change my internal environment, and that person was me. My ‘care’ now needed to come from within. I had to take responsibility for my healing, I may not be ‘cured’ but I could reach my full potential, both physically and mentally.
I learned how to create the right mindset to deal with the pain and how to develop new, healthy behaviours that allowed my body to heal. With a lot of failure, persistence and perseverance, I regained control of my health and my life step-by-step.
My second chance in life inspired me to become reflective, become the best human I can be, and help educate others on the importance of their health and their impact on the world.
In 2021, I re-opened Angel Chiropractic with a fresh outlook on life and as a completely transformed human being.
Angel Chiropractic now serves the busy community of London with a truly unique framework that addresses the mental and physical sides of patient healing - a process that corrects and educates patients through their journey to optimal health.
